Thank you for your comments. I am fine with the Allcitiesstrong analogy. Of course no one ever did that, because they know how callous it would be.

Also, there are a number of ways to not be fragile. If you simply say to someone who detects racist acts — “I am not racist”, then that is showing some inability on your part to engage. If, however, you say “I don’t see how I am committing a racist act here, tell me more”…then you are not dismissing the victim’s claims, but not agreeing with them either. Importantly…the conversation can continue.

I take your point about the use of the words racist, white supremacy, etc. But the meaning of words evolve over time. For racist, I do hope it evolved away from personal accusation and towards a simple statement of action.
